Jibba Jabbin with Tzombie is basically what I'm calling the Radio News thing. Did the first one today, started at 6 pm central on the dot so if ya wanna listen you might wanna start listening a few minutes early, it lasts for about half an hour and I'm working on figuring out a way to interview people. I'll be including things like updates on servers, forum stuff, stats on the servers, pie of the day (Today's was Rhubarb with whip cream btw if you were wondering Flimflam), and other random bullshit that I'll jibber jabber on about. Either way if I don't get more listeners I might just stop doing the jibber jabber since there were a total of 3... meh. We'll see how the week plays out.

I will be listning in tonight and whenever I have the comp on at that time. Even if I am baking PIES I will have it on in the background. Can you remind us of the choices for listening? The "Radio Player" in the forums? Is that the best way?

I tuned in for the session. This was interesting and fun. (P.s. I was just kidding about Redfox and Half  )It would be cool to get a video stream and a "chat" area for the audience to contribute during the show. Not sure if Steam, Vent or some other tool can do the group chat thing. Another interesting idea would be to use this so that at any time, it streams the actual ingame activity of various ZC servers and rotates them. Not everyone can install and run Steam at work or at school or on the road and such a thing would be a nonstop ad for LGS.)

I have an account on ustream.tv. May be a fun project to make this with video+jibberjabber+music+split screen ZC gaming with play by play. If there is a way to integrate that in the forum Web pages that would take the social aspect of ZC to a new level. This would give ZC a wider aspect for the social part that is a magnet for new players and server sales. No one else (that I know of) offers this kind of community tied to a group of players and servers.

I am curious how most of the regular ZC players spend time while connected to ZC in some way. In other words, are various people doing some combination of: Steam Chat, Vent, in game in a ZC or other game? Are they tuned into one or more of these while doing something else, like homework, paid work, watching movies, or making PIE? I sense from my experience with Vent, that some people are just connected all the time no matter what they are doing and that’s kind of cool to think about. Why not have a video and audio streaming object like the radio player, where everyone (or just those with forum accounts) can watch and interact with ZC regulars talking about gaming, game servers (LGS,) PIE or whatever? Just an extension of the forums.

I just listened to a podcast where they were talking about video graphics card industry and they talked about PC gaming vs. consoles and one expert defended PC gaming saying that it will be seeing a steady increase in the near future (new technologies coming out in the next 3 months.) He also said that the bottom line is that PC gaming offers a whole range of social networking possibilities that are only now being opened up, and that consoles can only change with an update every year or more. -----sounds like a timely topic.

Somewhere in this meandering you will find PIE.

FlimFlam, we have been working on this idea of streaming in-game events, and also merging multiple methods of streaming resources, chat, sound, and text, into one area. It is VERY hard to find a solution for streaming in-game events, and we have found minimal resources on it - though it IS possible, but very hard.

The radio show should have planned agenda in order to make it easier on TzJ to have media to work with and speak of. Patrick had some idea's on this, and was beginning to work on a way for TzJ to be able to do voice interviews streamed through the radio, as to give TzJ the ability to have guests on the show. There are many bands, gamers, people that thrive off of such things.

Another idea we have been working on in the background: Is to have the ability to stream the radio through the game servers themselves. Much like the Radio Plugin we have now, that allows for those 60 crappy stations to play through a flash player loaded into steams IE client. We've been trying, but I need Samui or Avitars help on this, as I need a hooked event which uses a chat trigger to load the current flash player we have, and then another hook to show it in the browser for stopping/unloading it.

I am quite sure that with FlimFlam's, TzJ's, and every one else's idea's and help - we can push this to a level in which we never dreamed of.

Thanks Brixton. And thanks to being open to ideas and suggestions.

I'm not that technical, but I played with ustream.tv that allows you to stream from either video, your desktop, or a specific application (using an add-on tool.) I tinkered with this trying to get it to stream me playing ZPS. You can then embed some code in a Web page that displays your "tv channel." It's streamed from their server so no load on your own video or Web server.

One thing that I was curious about is if there is a way to control how the spectating works in ZPS. Can I make it so my spectate view follows a specific player always--without having to constantly click the mouse? (Whitey seems to be where a lot of action is.) That way, the streaming could be almost automated.

Anyway thanks again for listing to my ideas. I just wish I had the skills to help out a bit . I know that it's easy to have an idea and HARD to make it into reality!
